What attracted you to join The Elevated Cab team?
I was drawn to The Elevated Cab team for their outstanding culture and the owners' dedication to customer service and quality. Having known Carol Gray for years, I trust her integrity and reputation, which speak volumes about the company. I appreciate that The Elevated Cab is large enough to handle projects of any scale while maintaining the personalized care of a close-knit team.
Briefly share an overview of your professional background and how it has prepared you for this role.
With over 40 years' experience in the architectural restoration industry, I have progressed from field refinisher to Regional VP. This journey has equipped me with expertise in customer and employee relations, project management, communication, and teamwork. It has also reinforced my commitment to giving back to the community whenever possible—a value rooted in my humble beginnings.
What are you most excited about in your new position at The Elevated Cab?
I'm thrilled to explore a new industry while leveraging my extensive experience in renovation and restoration. I look forward to collaborating with a team that values input and fosters a supportive environment. Learning from industry leaders is an exciting prospect, and I hope my background will help accelerate the learning process.
What do you hope to achieve in your first few months with the company?
My main goal is to gain a deep understanding of elevator design as quickly and thoroughly as possible. By doing so, I aim to contribute meaningful value to both the company and its customers.
What are some of your hobbies or interests?
I enjoy hiking, solving puzzles, gardening, restoration projects of any kind, architectural painting and travelling the globe. These activities fuel my creativity and curiosity.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most people don't know?
I genuinely enjoy having fun—sometimes that surprises people!
Tell us about your family or any beloved pets you might have.
Animals hold a special place in my heart and have been an integral part of my life since youth. Currently, I have three beloved rescue pets who bring me joy and companionship.
What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
It's hard to narrow it down but some highlights include Static Line Skydiving, Running with the Bulls in Pamplona, hiking through Machu Picchu, Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and free style safariing through the Serengeti.
What's the most unusual or interesting place you've ever been?
The Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania stands out as it is the largest caldera in the world. Its breathtaking beauty is matched by the groundbreaking research uncovering evidence of human evolution. I was just fascinated by both the history and the wildlife in the crater. It somehow just lets you feel connected with the whole world even if it's for such a small passing moment in time.
